I’m in third year of uni yay! Which means I’m a year closer to graduating :) I’m in my third year of journalism now and we’re starting to practice writing more frequently and doing a lot of practical activities like going to court to find and write a story, interviewing people, taking photographs and writing feature articles. The deadlines are crazy (nothing groundbreaking) and by now my news writing should be near perfect (but it’s not yet).
I’ve completed all of business core units which is such a relief, and now I’m onto my major. I’ve changed from management to public relations (PR) and so far, it’s been the best decision I’ve made for myself. I am in love with PR; more than journalism if I may add. It’s incredibly challenging and versatile but that’s why I love it. It’s a guarantee that no two days will be the same and the employment rate is relatively high; albeit is incredibly competitive. I see myself as a PR practitioner for a corporate company or part of a firm/agency. I’m incredibly motivated to do well; it feels like I’m on the right path in my life and this is the first time I’ve ever felt so sure.
After graduating from my bachelor degrees, I plan to further study to obtain a Masters degree in communication, management or marketing. It would be amazing to be able to have a Masters degree at 22 years of age and hopefully by then, I’ll be able to score a job in a well-known, successful company. I hope to complete my Masters in Melbourne but that’s in the cards.
For now, I just really want to get good marks to bring up my GPA, get an internship to get more experience in writing and a taste of the industry. I have faith in myself and as long as I keep myself motivated; I know I reach all my goals :)
